Whether you love wandering through Christmas bazaars, shopping for handmade gifts, watching the town Christmas tree light up, or simply finding an excuse to drink hot chocolate, there's plenty happening around the Portland metro area and Southwest Washington.

Where to Find the Best Holiday Events Near Portland

One of my favorite things about living in the Portland metro area is how different each community feels, especially around the holidays.

Downtown Portland has its big tree lighting and large artisan markets. Vancouver combines its holiday festivities with the Columbia River waterfront. Lake Oswego, Oregon City, West Linn, and Camas offer charming downtown celebrations, while smaller community bazaars are perfect for finding handmade gifts and supporting local businesses.

Whether you're spending a weekend exploring a new neighborhood or looking for holiday activities close to home, there's no shortage of ways to celebrate.

And if you're thinking about making a move in the Portland metro area or Southwest Washington, exploring these local events is a fun way to experience what different communities have to offer.

Happy holidays, and happy exploring!
